![]() Rather than going with a pixel art style like some of its peers, Trinity Fusion uses smoother three-dimensional visuals. It's a whole lot of mumbo jumbo (the 1.0 update adds even more story for those who love lore logs). ![]() Players are dropped into a sci-fi story that vaguely involves the multiverse. Trinity Fusion replaces the crunchy pixel art fantasy of Dead Cells with something smoother and more futuristic - it's as if Angry Mob Games dipped its inspiration in chrome. Though its not as rich with secrets and certainly doesn't look as striking, its worth digging into for anyone itching for another game that'll have them saying "one more run" for hours. It has players hacking their way through 2D environments, building a character with temporary boosts each run, and nabbing some permanent abilities with acquired currencies. Trinity Fusion is a new roguelike by Angry Mob Games that exits early access today and sticks very close to the Dead Cells playbook. Luckily, there's an easy way to fill that gap, even if its a temporary fix. Of course, there's only so much of it I can play, especially as developer Motion Twin gets to work on its next game, Windblown. Whether I'm jumping in for a random run or checking out its excellent Return to Castlevania DLC, I'm always down for more of its 2D action formula. I even have an arcade cabinet in my apartment that runs it. The excellent roguelike has been a mainstay on my PC and Switch since it released. I'm probably not alone when I say that I can't get enough Dead Cells. Hello Games has suggested that it doesn't want an overly long marketing cycle for this title, so it is possible it could come out in 2024, but we will have to await an official announcement. There is no confirmed release date or window for Light No Fire. Here's everything we know for sure about Light No Fire. Of course, given the history of No Man's Sky's pre-release marketing and misleading statements on what was and was not possible at launch, some are a little weary of buying in too early. The shift from sci-fi to fantasy opens up a brand new avenue for Hello Games to experiment with new systems and mechanics. ![]() Light No Fire may not be trying to recreate the entire universe like its predecessor, and instead, it is remaining grounded on Earth, though it appears to be just as ambitious. ![]() That makes it fitting that the studio's next project was also revealed at the new iteration of the awards show, The Game Awards 2023. Hello Games burst onto the scene when it debuted its first project No Man's Sky, at the old Spike Game Awards. That means games already released or already in development in an older version of Unity won’t be subject to the fee. For developers using Unity Pro and Unity Enterprise, the Runtime Fee and applicability of Unity’s terms have been adjusted so that it only applies to games made on the next LTS version of Unity. In a blog post about the Runtime Fee changes, Unity’s Marc Whitten admitted that Unity “should have incorporated more of your feedback before announcing our new Runtime Fee policy.” UnityĪs for what’s changing, the blog post states confirms that there will be no Runtime Fees for games made on Unity Personal or for games that made less than $1 million over the last 12 months. Devs felt the plan had oversights concerning subscription services, charity bundles, and piracy. This decision was met with ire by game developers, who hated the short-notice, retroactive application. The Unity Runtime Fee was going to start charging developers up to a $0.20 fee every time someone installed their game. While the Runtime Fee isn’t completely going away, changes were made so it’s not as aggressive toward smaller developers and games that were already released. Unity has finally backtracked some of the policies related it the Unity Runtime Fee announced last week following a wave of backlash from game developers. ![]()
